ResiliEnhance Platform 2024 Meeting

Joint Advanced Schools

The ResiliEnhance Platform Members will meet in Udine (Italy) from 26 to 27 November 2024, thanks to the continuous support of the Central European Initiative (CEI), the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the University of Udine and the International Center for Mechanical Sciences (CISM).

In 2022, during the launch event, the ResiliEnhance Platform Members explored the GAR 2022 theme of "transforming governance" with an intersectoral approach, engaging in discussions and collaboration among experts from UNESCO Chairs, UN organizations, and other institutions in the Central European Initiative area.
In 2023, Members analyzed the case study of the reconstruction after the 1976 Friuli earthquake, using a retrospective post- event evidence-based approach, to develop a comprehensive framework on enhancing resilience to disasters for sustainable development.

In the 2024 Meeting, a deeper exploration of thematic narratives related to resilience in the face of disasters will take place, with a particular focus on governance transformations, in alignment with the 2024 GAR approach. By examining narratives on experiences and activities within the CEI region, strategies that enhance resilience and adaptive capacity will be identified. Members of the ResiliEnhance Platform will collectively analyze and discuss these narratives using the ResiliEnhance Framework, providing a synthesis of their interpretations. The event will conclude with final remarks from authorities.
